Introduction The relevance of the chosen topic is determined by the rapid development of digital technologies and the growing influence of artificial intelligence (AI) on various aspects of organizational management. In recent years, AI has evolved from a purely technological concept into a practical tool used to improve decision-making, optimize processes, and enhance personnel management. As organizations increasingly rely on data-driven solutions, understanding how AI can be applied within the framework of general management becomes essential for future managers and scholars. ………………………………… 1. Theoretical foundations of management and artificial intelligence 1.1. Fundamentals of management theory The development of management theory as an independent area of knowledge reflects the historical evolution of organizational structures, decision-making systems, and human behavior in collective labor. In the Russian academic tradition, the theoretical foundations of management have long been associated with systemic and processual approaches, where the organization is regarded not merely as a production unit, but as a complex socio-economic organism with specific functional dynamics. The classic works of A. A. Turchenko, V. A. Obolensky and O. S. Vikhansky remain foundational for understanding the theoretical essence of management in the post-Soviet intellectual landscape. The early conceptualizations of management can be traced back to the work of A. F. Smirnov and P. G. Schedrovitsky, whose theories of activity and organization paved the way for modern interpretations of management as both a science and a practice rooted in pragmatism and long-term strategic reflection. The transition to market economies in Russia forced scholars to re-examine these traditional paradigms and incorporate Western ideas of corporate governance, as seen in the synthesis of F. W. Taylor"s principles with the operational needs of Russian enterprises in the 1990s. This synthesis produced a hybrid managerial framework that attempted to reconcile systemic discipline with the volatility of an emerging market. Russian scholars began to redefine the function of a manager, not merely as a coordinator of tasks but as a strategist embedded within unstable institutional landscapes. Theoretical constructs were recalibrated to respond to a fragmented economy, where uncertainty was no longer a deviation from the norm but a defining condition of organizational existence. By the early 2000s, a gradual institutional stabilization allowed for a more systematic adaptation of Western managerial doctrines. However, their direct transplantation proved insufficient without cultural reinterpretation. The concept of accountability, for instance, acquired distinct contours when aligned with post-Soviet hierarchical legacies. This required a reconceptualization of leadership not as imposition of control but as orchestration of cooperation in transitional organizational environments [10, c. 324]. The theoretical corpus of management studies in Russia integrates economic, sociological and psychological dimensions. Modern interpretations view management as a multifactorial process determined by structural constraints, external environmental uncertainty, and internal organizational potential. According to M. Sundu, management theory must constantly respond to the dialectic between formalized institutional logics and emerging informal practices of leadership and coordination [12, c. 131]. The emergence of management as a formalized discipline has also demanded the development of methodological tools to describe, model and predict organizational behavior. Scholars such as S. L. Ozerov emphasize the analytical importance of decision-support systems as mechanisms for enhancing the consistency and adaptability of managerial activity [8, c. 542]. These tools extend beyond technical instrumentation to include ideologically charged categories such as corporate culture, motivation, and responsibility. In contemporary Russia, management theory is increasingly informed by interdisciplinary influences, especially from behavioral economics and systems theory. The influence of cybernetic models is particularly evident in works addressing adaptive organizations and knowledge-based firms, which require flexible yet resilient frameworks for coordination and control. It is within this theoretical space that the integration of artificial intelligence is being increasingly discussed—not only as a technical add-on, but as a reshaping force for managerial logic. ………………………………… References 1.
